Clergy Report:  +Kevin

Sink the Dinghy Fund has raised $7,000 for Amy’s Place.

DOC has tithed $9,000 to ACNA for 2011.  It was noted at last week’s DOC council meeting that a motion was passed to give an additional $14,700 from DOC toward ACNA’S operating budget shortfall.

+Kevin and Moheb Ghali will be joining the Ecumenical Planning Commission with Orthodox Churches in January.

Bruce read a letter from John Mansell Allen requesting that St. Brendan’s endorse him to both the DOC, to Trinity School for Ministry and Gordon Conwell and Ridley Hall in Cambridge, in his endeavors to study for the priesthood. ( See attached).  It was moved and seconded (Bruce/Graham) that we endorse John as requested.  Motion passed unanimously.

Clergy Report:  Gerry+

Gerry+ continues to be very busy with his hospital visits.

He finds The Journey to be a successful teaching tool in providing material for his sermons.

He is enjoying his work with Paul Orritt+ as he studies Practice with the Holy Eucharist.

Gerry+ praised Trevor for faithfully leading the mid-week service which is held at SPA’s Upper School Chapel.

A joint clergy leadership retreat/seminar with Canadian Anglicans and DOC  will be held on January 24th.-26th. At Cedar Springs Lodge in Sumas.  The fee is a heavily discounted $195 per participant.  St. Brendan’s will cover Gerry’s+ fees, DOC covers +Kevin’s.

Other Business:

Maddie has updated the trifold handout to give people who are new to St.  Brendan’s.   The trifold introduces and defines St. Brendan’s to the greater community.

Brittney is stepping down from her Sunday School position to pursue further schooling.  This coming Sunday, December 18, will be her last Sunday with us.

+Kevin led us in Closing Prayer.

Respectfully submitted,
Susan Hess, Vestry Clerk
