ST. Short evening prayer was led by Kevin; members were invited to give individual prayers of thanks followed by The Lord’s Prayer said in unison.
There was a brief discussion about church growth and evangelism. The definition of evangelism is to reach out and bring others into relationship with Jesus Christ.
We constructed a list of things we could consider for church growth and for evangelism, noting the programs that do both, such as Alpha.
The points were synthesized into four main areas:
Equip People: Bible Study Evangelism workshop Lead to Christ workshop Points on how to approach people Alpha training Entry Points: Contemporary service in addition to the main service (possible 8:00am service with a later service at 10:30am) Elder Ministry Small groups to meet in homes Special services Community events Greeting check points
Fellowship events Infrastructure: Nursery Sunday School Name Tags Greeters at the service and coffee hour Newcomer class Nurture/Discipleship Prayer ministry Small groups Cursillo Fellowship events Host family at worship Bible Study Men’s group Women’s Prayer group Retreat Inquirer’s class Respectfully submitted |
