Annual Meeting Notes

May 17, 2009

The meeting was called to order at 10:45 am by Sr. Warden Bruce Litherland with the singing of the Doxology.

Fr. Kevin displayed photos taken throughout this past year of St. Brendan’s and the formation of the Diocese of Cascadia.  These photos included events, programs, support and mission work etc.  He thanked those who provided special efforts.

Fr. Kevin reviewed the number of St. Brendan’s firsts and initiatives to reach out to our community including WWU connections.

Request forms were passed out to solicit from the congregation what it is “our hopes are for St. Brendan’s in the future.”  We were challenged to consider how we can reach out and bring more people to Christ.  Fr. Kevin asked each to consider how they can be a part of that effort.

Bruce Litherland led in the election of four people to four positions on Vestry:  Bruce Litherland, Dan Howard-Snyder, Moheb Ghali and David Baines.  Bruce moved that we

approve the election by acclimation.  Motion carried.

Bruce reviewed our financial position, noting that while we ended the year with approximately $2400 in the black, there were some expenses that need to be monitored in the coming year.  For example, rent for the SDA facility will be higher than in the past,

Fr. Kevin made a special note to thank the spouses of the clergy:  Jan Schmaling and Stephanie Allen.

Stephanie Allen thanked all the Sunday School parents and teachers.  Bob Wagner thanked Trevor for his work and effort on the web site.

Meeting adjourned at 11:20 am.
